WOD 3 2014

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater DC today announced the three Finalists for the 2014 Woman of Distinction Award. The NAWBO Greater DC chapter recognizes Amy Anda, Renee Lewis, and Ginger Miller as 2014 Woman of Distinction Finalists.

The Woman of Distinction award recognizes women in the greater DC area who advance women's business in a meaningful way. The Finalists will be honored and the 2014 winner will be announced during the chapter's Annual Banquet on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Sheraton Premier Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

"We look forward to honoring these three accomplished finalists and showing appreciation for women in our community who are doing remarkable things to advance women's business and enabling others to do the same," said Jennifer Brand, President of NAWBO Greater DC. "The Woman of Distinction award is one way our chapter acknowledges women whose actions are benefiting the members of NAWBO Greater DC as well as other women business owners around the beltway and beyond."

The 2014 award Finalists were selected by the chapter's Board of Directors and the following individuals who served as Judges:
• Carla Morelli, President of Mindshare Advisory and Past President of NAWBO Greater DC
• Kathy Korman Frey, Founder of The Hot Mommas Project and 2011 Woman of Distinction
• Louisa Jaffe, Co-founder and CEO/President of TAPE and 2012 Woman of Distinction Honoree
• Meredith Bergeson, Associate at Jackson Lewis LLP
• Molly Gimmel, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Design To Delivery, Inc. and Past President of NAWBO Greater DC

"Amy, Renee, and Ginger are extraordinary leaders who exemplify our Chapter's commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs," said Mina Fies, Chair of the award committee and President-Elect for the chapter. "We're beyond excited to honor their contribution at our Annual Banquet on June 4th, and have them serve as inspiration to our Greater DC community."

The Woman of Distinction Award acknowledges a woman in the greater DC area who is advancing women's business in a meaningful way. Qualifying candidates will be female business owners or decision-making executives responsible for business performance, or a woman whose work advances and/or enables women's business. Membership or involvement in NAWBO Greater DC is not a requirement.
